Life Drawing
We completed a series of life drawing sessions during our first term, which worked alongside our puppetry projected as we were looked at form, movement and the figure.
We explored using charcoal on paper in our first session, looking at the overall figure and drawing it quickly. In our second session we looked in closer detail at the shadows and lighting on the figure creating drawings using just the areas of light. We also experimented with tearing up newspaper to create these patches of light. In our final session we explored adding some colour and working with a range of materials.
All these workshops, I feel, have really helped to build up my skills in drawing and referencing figures an form as well as helping to develop the confidence to experiments with different media and materials.
Exploring Archetypes
We spent the next few sessions looking at archetypes, portraits and caricatures....
