London Trip
Hamilton
Our trip behind the scenes of the West End phenomenon Hamilton was an absolute privilege. It was incredible to see how the staff prepared before each show, with the stage needing cleaning, the sounds and lighting needing checking
and all moving props and pieces of
staging needing testing.
It was also fascinating to hear about the
process of moving this show onto West
End and being able to see how some of
the staging was created such as the back
wall being created from papier mache.
Tate Britain
On this trip our group also went to explore the Tate Britain, looking at the 60 years: the unfinished conversation exhibition we had been introduced to earlier that week. This was a really interesting exhibition offering a wide range of artist styles and techniques that was intriguing to see side by side.

I also was drawn in by the large open exhibit , the procession, consisting of a huge number of carnival costumes. The amount of detail in these hand sewn pieces was so impressive and the colours and textures made for a brilliant exhibition that really stood out.

It was also great to see the painting "Ophelia" by John Everett Maillais as we were studying Hamlet at the time and my Skills Passport piece was inspired by this piece. It was stunning to see all the detail up close as I am always blown away by these large oil paintings.
